Macclesfield Methodist Circuit
As Methodists, we believe in caring for our local community, especially in times of need. It is part of our heritage to care for our neighbours. We offer those who are bereaved the opportunity to remember their loved one’s life and offer them into God’s care. As Christians, we believe that God revealed His unending love for us through Jesus Christ – a love that goes on beyond death. If you choose to have a Methodist Service of Thanksgiving for your loved one, we will ensure the service is tailored to meet the needs of those who are bereaved, based on this belief that God gives us hope of Love being forever. We lead services for anyone who would like us to. Our community services are ‘light touch Christian’ as we recognise many families today are not all linked to church, with varied beliefs. We take all of this into account when preparing the service with you, aiming to respect the various beliefs of those attending. We offer Services of Thanksgiving (funerals) led by a Methodist Minister at a Methodist Church in Macclesfield, Broken Cross, Gawsworth, Prestbury, Poynton, or Langley, we are equally happy to lead services at the crematorium or by a graveside.
Support after the Service
We provide ongoing pastoral support through our local churches here in and around the Macclesfield area (or if you live further away we can put you in touch with local Methodist support in your area). We hold special services for those dealing with loss, such as ‘Blue Christmas’, ‘Time to Remember’ and ‘Service of Light’ which may be a help to you a few months after the funeral service. We will hold you and your family in prayer through this difficult time.
